This post is the second of a series of Chicago photographs. The photo was taken on the N. Columbus drive bridge looking down the Chicago river towards Trump Tower Chicago during magic hour during a beautiful fall evening. The Chicago River defines the city in more ways than you can count. From historical achievements to lasting landmarks, Chicago revolves around the river.
The Chicago River is one of the best places to photograph Chicago, and it’s especially true at night. You can walk along the river from Navy Pier to the South Loop, passing along the way many of the iconic buildings such as Aqua Tower, Wrigley Building, Trump Tower, Marina City and Willis Tower. If you enjoy cityscapes, this is one of the best places in the city. There are endless possibilities, multiple vantage points, and different times of the day will bring a different look.
I named the photograph “When the Lights Go Down in The City”. I entered the photograph in the Crystal Lake Camera Club December competition. The photograph won 1st place in the large color category and print of the month.
Check back soon to view the next photograph in this Chicago series, I can’t wait to share it with you.
